What are Bionic Laminate veneers at Standard Dental in Jamsil?

Quick answer

Standard Dental Clinic in Jamsil, Seoul makes Bionic Laminate porcelain veneers: ultra-thin ceramic shells of 0.1–0.3 mm, layered by hand and shade-matched in the clinic's own dental lab, and planned by prosthodontists Dr. Je-woong Yeon and Dr. Jong-hoe Kim. In suitable cases tooth reduction is 0.1 mm or less, and some gaps or small teeth need no drilling at all — though not every case can be no-prep. Veneer prices are quoted after consultation, and you can preview the look first with Bionic First trial tips (₩100,000 for 6 teeth).

Who are porcelain veneers for?

Veneers change the front surface of a tooth. They work best when the teeth underneath are healthy and the bite is stable.

Often a good fit

  • Discolored teeth  that whitening can't lift, including old staining.
  • Gaps between front teeth  (diastema), sometimes with no drilling.
  • Small or narrow teeth  that look out of proportion.
  • Chipped or uneven edges  on the front teeth.

May need something else first

  • Decay or gum inflammation  — treated before any veneer work.
  • Crowded or protruding teeth  —  braces or Invisalign  may be the better route.
  • Heavy grinding  — veneers may still work, usually with a night guard.
  • Teeth you only want lighter  —  teeth whitening  may be enough.

How we make them

What makes Bionic Laminate veneers different?

They are thin.  The ceramic is 0.1–0.3 mm — the clinic compares it to a fingernail. Where the case allows, enamel reduction is 0.1 mm or less, and some gaps or small teeth need no drilling. Rotated or very dark teeth may need more preparation; the prosthodontist tells you how much and why before you agree.

They are layered by hand.  The ceramic is built up in layers ("layer shade") so light passes through it more like natural enamel.

They are made in-house.  The clinic's own lab is led by a master technician with about 19 years' experience, according to the clinic's YouTube channel. Shades are matched with an in-house shade guide and can be fine-tuned on the day of your try-in.

Not sure what suits your face? The  Bionic First veneer preview  lets you try the design on before any tooth is touched.

Timeline

How long do veneers take in Seoul?

Usually several visits over about a week. The exact schedule depends on how many teeth are involved and whether other treatment comes first.

  1. Consultation and 3D scan

A prosthodontist examines your teeth, bite and gums and scans them digitally. You talk through the shape, length and shade you want.

  2. Smile design (optional preview)

The design is made in the in-house lab. If you choose Bionic First, trial tips are ready in 2–3 days.

  3. Preparation

Minimal or no reduction where possible. You'll know in advance which teeth need preparation.

  4. Try-in

The veneers are checked in your mouth for shade, shape and fit, and adjusted in the lab if needed.

  5. Bonding and bite check

The veneers are bonded and your bite is checked and adjusted.

  6. Check-ups

Regular check-ups help veneers last; they're also needed for the clinic's treatment guarantee.

Risks & aftercare

Can veneers chip or come off?

  • Don't bite hard things with your front teeth  — ice, bones, pens, bottle caps.
  • Wear a night guard  if you clench or grind.
  • Keep regular check-ups  so small problems are caught early.
  • Whiten first, if you want to.  Ceramic doesn't respond to whitening, so if you'd like your other teeth lighter, do it before the shade is chosen.

Under the clinic's treatment guarantee for prosthetic and aesthetic work (Fair Trade Commission standard terms, yearly check-ups required), re-treatment is at no charge within 1 year and at 50% of the normal fee between 1 and 3 years. Accidents, trauma and careless use are excluded; ask how it applies to your case.

FAQ

Porcelain veneers in Jamsil, Seoul: common questions

How much are porcelain veneers at Standard Dental in Seoul?

The clinic quotes Bionic Laminate veneers after a consultation, because the price depends on the number of teeth and the preparation needed. The Bionic First preview is ₩100,000 for 6 teeth. Cosmetic treatment in Korea carries 10% VAT.

How many days do I need in Seoul for veneers?

Usually several visits over about a week: scan and design, preparation, try-in and bonding. If you'd like a Bionic First preview first, allow 2–3 extra days for the tips to be made.

Do veneers mean drilling my teeth?

Not always. In suitable cases reduction is 0.1 mm or less, and some gaps or small teeth need no drilling. Laminates are not always no-prep, though; the prosthodontist explains what your teeth need before you decide.

How long do veneers last?

It depends on your bite, habits and care. Grinding, hard foods and accidents shorten their life; night guards and regular check-ups help. The dentist can talk through what to expect in your case.

Can I get a tourist VAT refund on veneers?

No. The tourist VAT refund for cosmetic procedures in Korea ended on 31 December 2025. Cosmetic treatment is subject to 10% VAT.

Veneers or composite bonding for a gap?

Composite gap closure is ₩250,000 per site and is done directly on the tooth; ceramic veneers take more visits and lab work, and can change both the shade and shape of the teeth. The dentist will explain both for your teeth.
